We begin by studying your photos—the blaze, the chin patch, the exact eye color and tilt that feels like them. Our artist sketches quick thumbnails (head-only or half-body), then transfers the outline onto an artist-grade canvas panel.

Colors are hand-mixed in small batches to match your pet’s coat and the light in your reference. We lay in a calm underpainting to set values and temperature.

Next, we build layer by layer: broad shapes first, then the flow of fur, and finally the tiny things—whisker roots, nose texture, catch-lights in the eyes. Edges are softened where the piece should feel cuddly, and sharpened where the likeness needs to pop.

When dry, the painting receives a clear protective finish for depth and longevity, then it’s mounted cleanly in a gallery frame.

Before shipping, we perform a final check in both daylight and warm indoor light to ensure true color at home, photograph your portrait, and pack with corner protection.
