How we felt your portrait

We begin by listening to your photos. Our artist studies the eye color, markings, ear shape, and tilt that feel like them, then maps the head (or half-body with adjustable paws) into gentle planes.

Merino wool is hand-blended and placed strand by strand. Using fine felting needles, we build depth where it matters most—the nose bridge, cheek puff, ear rims, eye line, and chest fluff—so the likeness slowly “lifts” from the fibers. Tones are custom-mixed from your references for true-to-life color rather than a generic palette.

Finishing is quiet, careful work. Flyaways are tamed and secured, edges are dressed for a clean, heirloom feel, and the portrait rests so the fibers settle. We then mount it on a calm textile backdrop and set it into a deep, gallery-style frame, ready to display.

Before it leaves the studio, we check twice. A daylight + warm-light color check, a last tidy under side light, and a studio photo for your records.
